Bridal Alterations Terms & Conditions

Shoes - It is your responsibility to ensure you bring your correct shoes  and undergarments to all of your appointments. Your shoes must be the exact shoes that you will be wearing on the day of your wedding. If you do not bring your shoes, your hem will not be pinned and you may need an extra fitting to have your hem altered. If you change your shoes after the 1st appointment, I cannot take responsibility for the hem being incorrect and if additional alterations need to be done, they will incur additional costs.

 

Measurements - If you are planning on losing weight, you must be at your ‘goal weight’ by your 1st fitting and then maintain until the wedding. If you are using weight loss injections please let me know when you book your appointments so that I can book them closer to your wedding date. If your size is likely to change due to pregnancy or other medical issues, please let me know ASAP so that I can make any adjustments needed to the timeline of your alterations. Your measurements will be taken at each fitting. Drastic size changes following your 1st fitting may incur additional costs as a result of more work needing to be done.

Other People At Fittings - You are welcome to bring people to your fittings. In fact, I recommend having at least one other person at your 3rd fitting so that I can show them how to fasten your dress and/or use your bustle. I have space for 3 people to sit comfortably. Children under the age of 10 MUST be supervised by someone other than yourself at all times.

Booking fee - The £50 booking fee secures your booking and ensures you attend your 1st fitting. The amount is non-refundable and is used to cover the cost of the 3 appointments booked as standard and the insurance for your gown whilst it is on the premises. Your booking is not secured until the booking fee has been received. Booking fees must be paid within10 working days or the booking will be removed, reminders will be sent after 5 working days.

Quotes - Any prices given before the 1st fitting are not a quote, only a guide. Quotes depend on the amount of work required and can be affected by construction, embellishments and number of layers, therefore, an accurate quote can only be given at the 1st fitting. You will be given an invoice detailing the alterations agreed at the end of your first fitting, this will include your quote. You are not required to make payment at your 1st fitting. Half of the balance is due at your 2nd fitting and the rest at your 3rd.

 

Changing appointments - If you need to change your appointment you must let me know ASAP. I will try to accommodate you where possible, however, I cannot guarantee I will be able to do so. If I cannot re-accommodate you, the appointments will be classed as cancelled by you. Changes made within 8 weeks of the 1st appointment will require an additional booking fee to secure the new appointment.

 

Cancellations - If you cancel your appointment, your booking fee will not be refunded. If I have to cancel your appointment for whatever reason, I will always try to rearrange it to a different date. If I cancel your appointment and it cannot be rearranged, your booking fee will be returned.

 

No shows - If you fail to attend your 1st fitting, your booking fee will not be returned and your following appointments will be cancelled. If you fail to attend your 2nd or 3rd appointment, the appointment will be rearranged, however, a £30 fee will be charged for the missed appointment.

 

Late arrival - If you arrive 10 minutes or more late for your appointment, I may not be able to fit you in as the whole time slot booked is necessary to assess and pin your dress. In this case, I reserve the right to deem the appointment as a no show.

Extra fittings - 3 Fittings are included in your booking fee. If your dress still needs adjustments after the 3rd fitting, you will be booked in for further fittings. Any additional fittings will be chargeable at £30 each.

Collection - Collection of your dress will be at the end of your final fitting (typically 2-3 weeks before the wedding). If you would like me to store your dress until closer to your wedding, I offer this for a fee and a collection appointment will be arranged at your final fitting. Once your dress has been collected and signed for, I am no longer liable. If you change your mind and require further alterations, these will be chargeable. You will be asked to sign a release form when removing your dress from my premises to indicate that you are happy with the fit and the alterations that have been done. Please ensure that you are 100% happy before you sign the release form.

 

Steaming - I offer steaming as a purchasable extra. If you would like to have your dress steamed, this can be discussed and paid for at any of your fittings. Your dress will then be steamed and prepped after your final fitting and collected closer to your wedding date (I recommend sometime in the week leading up to the wedding). A collection appointment will be booked at your final fitting.

 

Social media - Photos and videos may be taken of the work being completed on your dress. For wedding dresses, no content will be shared until after the date of your wedding. Content may be shared on my Facebook (Danimae designs and alterations), Instagram (@danimaealterations) or my website (www.danimaedesings.com). If you wish for no images/videos of your dress to be taken, you may opt out when signing the terms and conditions at your first fitting.
